"Toddler and Preschool Assistive Technology Clinical
Service"
A Health Trust Grant to Lucile Packard Children's Hospital
This grant of monies from The Health Trust of Santa Clara
County provides for the ATRC staff to
participate in the Mary
L. Johnson Infant Development Clinic and Preemie Graduate Services at
Packard Children’s Hospital. Our goal is to provide Augmentative
Communication evaluations and training in children birth to 5 years in
order to design a model for other health organizations to employ. We will
be staffing to the Infant Development Clinic twice a month to provide
consultation to staff and families and screening for full evaluations.
We will provide Caregiver Education several times a year to guide parents
and professionals in the implementation of communication systems technology
and strategies. We are targeting young children who do not presently have
the speech ability to meet all of their communicative needs. As strategy
sheets are designed they will appear on this web-site.
