About Orthopaedic Surgery
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is a relatively new department at Stanford University and is in a rapid growth phase. We are dedicated to providing not only excellent patient care, but also outstanding education for students, residents and fellows in the field of orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine. In addition, we are committed to advancing knowledge related to the care of conditions of the musculoskeletal system through basic science and clinical research. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery plans to continue to expand its clinical programs and develop focused areas of patient care in each of the orthopaedic subspecialties. These include Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement, Sports Medicine, Spine Surgery, Surgery of the Hand and Wrist, Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow, Surgery of the Foot and Ankle, Musculoskeletal Tumor Surgery, Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery, Pediatric Orthopaedics, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The faculty are recognized as excellent clinicians providing care for the most difficult problems in Orthopaedic surgery. In addition, they are nationally and internationally known through their contributions to the literature and visiting professorships, as well as their numerous awards and grants. As we continue to expand, we look forward to being able to provide enhanced Orthopaedic care for our patients and continue to contribute information to the fund of knowledge that enhances care globally. |
