The Department of Athletics and the Stanford Sports Medicine Program are in the ninth year of providing comprehensive health care to varsity athletes at Stanford University. This brief guide is to provide information concerning the primary care for varsity athletes. Further information can be obtained through the Stanford Sports Medicine Program.

Primary Care Services for the Varsity Athlete
Athletes who have chosen Dr. Paul Ford as their Primary Care Physician at Stanford should note the following information:

For non-urgent appointments/medical advice: Please email Dr. Paul Ford directly at pmford@stanford.edu. If unable to access email call his practice coordinator at 650-723-6028.
For urgent needs: Please call SMG directly at 650-723-6028 and ask to speak with Dr. Ford's practice coordinator. After hours, this number will reach the on-call physician who can assist you as needed.

Directions to SMG are available by reviewing the Medical Center Map . SMG is located on the second floor of the Blake Wilbur Clinic Building. Parking is available in the patient parking lot across from the clinic building (NOTE: The parking fee is now $5.00 if you are parked over 45 minutes, and goes up to $10/day if you are there longer than a couple of hours!). The Margeurite Shuttle is the best way to avoid Medical Center parking fees or park on the street on Pasteur Drive. A University "A" lot is located behind the building.

Athletes who have chosen to receive primary care through Cowell Student Health Services can proceed to Cowell to obtain primary care services or call Cowell at 650-723-4861.
