Infection team honored

Stanford's Infection Control and Epidemiology Department received in October the 2004 Malinda S. Mitchell Award for Service Quality. The award is presented each year at the annual SHC awards banquet to a department and its staff for outstanding and innovative service.

The SHC Infection Control and Epidemiology Department is responsible for the planning, organization, management and evaluation of the SHC infection control program. The department is responsible for compliance with current infection prevention and control regulations as they relate to surveillance, analysis, reporting, follow-up and prevention of nosocomial infections in patients and personnel at SHC.
