Medical School Dean Philip A. Pizzo said he hopes Stanford will be able to announce the new chairs of medicine and pediatrics “by late spring early summer.”

In his Jan. 9 Dean’s Newsletter, Pizzo said the two chair searches are actively under way, and “candidates for both positions began visiting Stanford and will continue to do so during the weeks ahead.”

Meanwhile, the dean said, “I am very pleased to officially welcome Dr. Jonathan Berek, who is joining Stanford this month as our new Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Dr. Frank Longo, who commences his leadership role as our new Chair of Neurology. It is wonderful to include these two new leaders in our Stanford Medicine community.”
