Effective Jan. 29, SHC and LPCH converted all hypodermic needles and syringes to the “BD Safety Glide” as part of an ongoing safety program, the Jan. 11 edition of SHC’s E-news reported.

In-service education has been provided for all clinical staff, including affected physicians to facilitate the change “which impacts most of the former style and color identifiers of needles, needle and syringe combinations, and syringes used in patient care areas,” the hospital reported.
