Kevin Tabb has been appointed vice president for medical affairs of SHC, announced CEO Martha Marsh on Feb. 4.
Tabb, who joined Stanford in 2005 as chief quality and medical information officer, reports directly to the CEO. In this newly created position, he will lead clinical quality and patient safety initiatives, assure regulatory compliance, support Medical Staff affairs in conjunction with the chief of staff (soon to be an elected position), and provide medical leadership for clinical information technology initiatives.
Marsh said in his previous position, Tabb has “built on his prior experience in informatics and quality improvement as president of clinical data services at GE Healthcare Information Technologies.” He is a graduate of Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Israel, where he subsequently completed his training and practiced until 1999, Marsh’s announcement said.
