Chief of Staff Larry Shuer makes sure he isn’t peeking as he draws the winning names in a raffle for two $500 nursing educational stipends from the Medical Staff. This year’s winners were infertility clinic nurse Josephine Manalo and Emergency Department clinical nurse specialist Michelle Woodfall. Both winners said they will use their stipends to help defray the costs of educational conferences related to their specialties. The Medical Staff each year provides the stipends from dues. The awards are given out during a Nurse Week Brunch, held this year on May 3. Making sure that the chief of staff “stays honest” in the drawing is Suzanne Taylor, manager, Center for Education and Professional Development.
