Medical Staff stipends help nurses achieve educational goals

Nicole Cromwell, an ICU nurse on E-2, and Marcia Walsh, who works in operating room services, were the two recipients of this year's medical staff stipends, awarded by chief of staff Larry Shuer at a Nurse Week recognition ceremony on May 8. The annual awards of $500 each, funded from medical staff dues, enable the recipients to attend educational conferences or pursue other career-related educational activities. Cromwell plans to use the stipend money to attend a September conference titled "Innovations in Pediatric and Adult Critical Care."
