Guest Services extend hours

The Guest Services department has extended its business hours and may now be contacted by phone Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7p.m. Call (650) 498-3333 externally or 8-3333 from any hospital phone to contact the Guest Services Office. The Department of Guest Services combines the efforts of patient representatives, chaplains, health librarians, interpreters, volunteers, massage therapists, and artists to serve the needs of patients and the local community. For further information, the medical staff may contact Teresa Reyna, director, Guest Services Operations at (650) 725-2891.

Heart website relaunched

SHC has relaunched its web Heart Center, offering about 180 pages of cardiac education and SHC-specific information which health professionals might wish to use as a resource for patients and the public. The site is available at: http://heart.stanfordhospital.com/

SHC Honored with HHS Organ Donation Medal of Honor

SHC was honored May 18 with the federal health and Human Services Department's Organ Donation Medal of Honor, presented at the Organ Donation Breakthrough Collaborative National Learning Congress in Pittsburgh, PA. HHS Organ Donation Medal of Honor is the first such award given to hospitals achieving organ donation rates for eligible donors of 75 percent or higher in a 12-month period. Stanford is one of 12 hospitals in Northern and Central California to receive the award.
