Surgeon William G. Utzinger dies at age 78

William G. Utzinger, a board certified surgeon who served many years on the Stanford medical staff, died of surgical complications April 2 at the age of 78. Utzinger, a graduate of Stanford Medical School, served as chief of staff at Stanford Hospital in 1966-1967. He is survived by his wife Margie of Los Altos Hills, five children, three grandchildren and a brother. Memorial donations may be sent to Interplast, 300 Pioneer Way, Mountain View, CA 94041. A private memorial celebration had been planned.
