Library hosts event celebrating
The origins of National Doctors Day go back to 1933 when a group of physicians' spouses in Winder, Ga., chose the day to commemorate the anniversary of the first administration of anesthesia almost a century earlier by a local Georgia physician. In 1991, President George Bush signed an executive order designating March 30 as an official day of recognition for physicians. The full text of that order can be viewed at http://envirotext.eh.doe.gov/data/eos/bush/19910221b.html. |
