Activities planned for national Patient Safety Week

In recognition of national Patient Safety Awareness Week, held March 9-15, Stanford Hospital & Clinics will host a variety of activities, including:

A "Speak Up for Safety" campaign promoted through educational materials for patients, physicians and staff.

Recognition for nursing units that beta-tested the Patient Safety Net online incident-reporting system.

Recognition and prizes for Patient Safety Net reporting throughout the hospital.

Prizes for safety-improvement suggestions submitted by physicians and staff.

"Executive Rounds for Safety" conducted by SHC executives in various hospital units.

Surprising safety statistics posted throughout the hospital.
